In acknowledgement of cultural diversity, the school celebrated Cinco do Mayo on May 5th. An assembly was held in the Gym for students to view displays of art, crafts, clothing and foods that were native to Mexico. The students in each class participated in activities related to Cinco de Mayo and Hispanic culture. The Mariachi Band 'Mariachi Rioverde' performed for students in the Gym in the afternoon. The students were treated to many songs and dances from Mexico by the wonderful band. Some of the students were able to participate in the dances with the mariachi band, along with Ms. Cole and Mrs. Lewis! Many thanks to everyone for your participation in the Cinco de Mayo activities!
