The students at Central Park Elementary School participated in Fire Safety and Awareness Day presented by the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Department. This program was presented to Kindergarten through Fourth Grade classes over a two-day period.  These services are intended to create a fire and life safety consciousness throughout the community. Lt. Thomas demonstrated how fires begin in the home and how to make a useful escape plan. Students sat attentively during the demonstrations, observing how carelessness can start fires. Lt. Thomas gave many useful tips to help students make their home a safe home.
